I have been over at the RPS forum (Ranger forum) for about a month now where 300+HP vulcans are common - There are 6 guys who run whipples with 325+hp over there! Come to find out, the top end (valvetrain, cylinder heads) of a vulcan can be rebuilt with 75% '85-95 5.0 mustang performance parts, a SHO forged crank, rods and pistons and you are instantly over 200hp in a naturally aspirated vulcan - Naturally you must run a bigger MAF and 19LB performance injectors but 210-215hp is easily achived in a solid vulcan build.
