The heads were loaded with 5.0 Crane performance springs and retainers, valves from SI, heads lightly ported and polished to increase flow. thicker castings for performance and no cracking. 030 over, very lightly decked, every part and entire assembly was balenced to the minute detail.Ĭylinder Heads are from Alabama Cylinder Head Inc. My short block is finished - Magnafluxed, line bored.

I have been over at the RPS forum (Ranger forum) for about a month now where 300+HP vulcans are common - There are 6 guys who run whipples with 325+hp over there! Come to find out, the top end (valvetrain, cylinder heads) of a vulcan can be rebuilt with 75% '85-95 5.0 mustang performance parts, a SHO forged crank, rods and pistons and you are instantly over 200hp in a naturally aspirated vulcan - Naturally you must run a bigger MAF and 19LB performance injectors but 210-215hp is easily achived in a solid vulcan build. I have been building a vulcan for some time now which is in it's final stages.
